I grew up on the West Coast of the South Island, then Berlin and later Wellington. I attended high school in Palmerston North and studied anatomy and physiology at the University of Otago (4 years), and then medicine (6 years). Having completed specialist training (another 6 years) in the Auckland Anaesthesia training scheme and I was awarded fellowship to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2006. I spent 18 months working in Australia followed by an appointment at Auckland District Health Board in the Department of Anaesthesia for Women’s Health. I live with my partner, dog and cat.
