“Born and bred on the North Shore of Auckland, I have been a Consultant Anaesthetist at Auckland City Hospital since late 2013. My Medical and post graduate anaesthesia training has involved time in Wellington, Whangarei, Cork (Ireland) and across all 3 public hospitals in Auckland. My Fellowship in Ireland was in regional anaesthesia with a dedicated exposure to acute orthopaedic surgery. In public I continue a love of orthopaedics, as well as anaesthesia for ophthalmology and neurosurgery.
As an anaesthesiologist, it is my job to make the patient and surgeon’s day as good as it can be. No one makes the decision to come forward for surgery lightly, and your welfare and comfort are the utmost priority. I like to catch up with patients before and after surgery – it is such a privilege to be part of this time in someone’s life.”
